In a separate network update released on October 23 2025, LOT Polish Airlines confirmed that it will start year-round services between Rome-Fiumicino and Kraków on March 30 2026. Five weekly flights (four in winter) will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, complementing LOT’s existing Rome–Warsaw trunk.
The launch is significant for corporate mobility because Kraków—the heart of Poland’s booming business-services sector—hosts more than 100 Italian-owned BPO and tech outfits. Direct air access reduces journey times by at least two hours compared with a change in Warsaw and supports weekend commuter assignments.
The schedule—with a midday Rome departure and early-afternoon arrival in Kraków—aligns with Schengen day-trip patterns, enabling same-day return options for project teams. Travel-management companies expect strong demand over the summer peak, aided by Kraków’s tourist appeal.
Italian chambers of commerce welcomed the route and reiterated calls for Poland to open an on-line fast-track for intra-company transfer (ICT) permits, noting that digitalisation of work-permit filings became mandatory on October 2 this year.
From a talent-mobility perspective, the new flights may encourage firms to enlarge dual-office roles, with consultants spending part of the week in Rome and part in Kraków, leveraging Poland’s competitive salary base and Italy’s client relationships.
