GEDU Roadshow Brings Seven-Country Higher-Education Fair to Fortaleza

GEDU Roadshow Brings Seven-Country Higher-Education Fair to Fortaleza
Brazil’s outbound-study market is back in full swing, and education agencies in the Northeast are taking notice. The **GEDU Roadshow Brazil 2025 – Fortaleza** edition opened on the afternoon of 23 October at the Mercure Meireles Hotel, gathering universities and pathway providers from Spain, France, Germany, Malta, the UAE and the United States.

Unlike large consumer fairs in São Paulo, the GEDU Roadshow is a trade-only event aimed at local travel and exchange agencies. Attendees receive programme updates on English-medium bachelor’s and master’s degrees, post-study work rights and—crucially—visa timelines following the recent tightening in Portugal and France.

Organisers report a 40 % year-on-year rise in agency registrations from Ceará and neighbouring states, reflecting pent-up demand after pandemic-era restrictions and the weaker real slowed outbound flows. Spain’s new Start-up & Digital Nomad Visas and France’s 12-month job-search permit for graduates drew particular interest, as did the U.S. Mission’s pledge to cut F-1 visa interview wait times in Recife.

For corporate HR teams in Brazil’s booming tech corridor along BR-101, the fair offers alternative upskilling pathways for junior staff when domestic graduate spots are limited. Agencies expect a spike in January 2026 departures, driven by EU spring-semester intakes and more flexible payment plans from European institutions.
