Hungary

Hungry is one of the landlocked European Union countries in Central Europe, with a population of close to 10 million people. The country has a 93,030 km2 landmass with a history dating back hundreds of years. The Hapsburgs once ruled these lands during the height of the Austro-Hungarian Empire under the Hapsburg Dynasty when they were a continental power in Europe. The main language is Hungarian, a widely spoken branch of the Uralic language.

Besides the Magyars, several other tribes have ruled this part of Europe, including the Avars, Slavs, Celts, and Huns, who migrated from the East. This conglomeration of tribes created a dominant culture in the area today. This is why Hungary has a vibrant social and traditional culture different from other countries in the region. Hungary attracts a lot of tourists every year and is the number one destination in Europe for medical tourism, with many visiting baths in the thermal pools found all over the country.

By joining the Schengen region in 2007, the country is eligible to issue Schengen visas to visitors coming to Europe, and the visas are recognized by other member nations as well.
