Guatemala is located in Central America and is a perfect spot to enjoy your holidays with family and friends. If you are looking for a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of your city to a quiet and serene place, you should try any of Guatemala’s coastal cities. With a Guatemala tourist visa, you can visit the country and enjoy the amazing sights and sounds the small Central American country has to offer.

Traveling To Guatemala

Guatemala is a Central American country located on the southern border of Mexico and shares a coastline with Honduras, the Caribbean Sea to the East, and the Pacific Ocean to the West. It also shares a common border with Honduras, Belize, and El Salvador. Guatemala city has always been a transit route for travelers moving from South America to North America and remains one of the most populated countries in the region, with over 17 million people, despite its small size.

Besides fund repatriation from Guatemalans working abroad, tourism is one of the major foreign exchange earners for the country. Every year, many tourists from different countries visit Guatemala because the weather is calm and the cost of living in the country is very low. If you want to visit Guatemala, you should prepare for the culture shock unless you are from a Latino country.

Overall, spending your holidays in Guatemala will be worth your while.

Do I Need A Guatemala Tourist Visa?

Not everyone requires a visa to enter Guatemala. There are some countries on the visa-free list whose citizens don’t need a tourist visa to enter the country. Many of the countries are fellow Central American nations, including South American countries and a few others. Tourists from visa-free countries can stay in Guatemala for up to 90 days, but they will have to apply for a visa to remain in the country. All the others require a visa to enter Guatemala.

How Do I Apply For Guatemala Tourist Visa?

Applicants can apply for a Guatemala visa using any of these two methods.

Embassy Application: You will need to visit the Guatemalan embassy in your country or any of their visa centers or consular offices to apply for a visa in person. The Guatemalan embassy will receive your visa application form and other necessary documents. They will schedule an interview with you which you must attend with your original documents. If your application is approved, the visa will be issued to you.

Online Application: An online Guatemala visa application is a route to take if you don’t live near a Guatemalan embassy or there is none in your city or country. The online application route is stress-free; you don’t have to visit any office or pass through any travel agent to submit your application form. The entire process is online, and you don’t have to submit any physical documents in person. You can apply for a tourist multiple entry visa via VisaHQ by following this method.
