Trenitalia and Italo have issued schedule changes for Sunday 26 October 2025 as RFI continues infrastructure upgrades on the Florence–Rome high-speed corridor. Multiple Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Italo services will depart up to 20 minutes earlier or later, and several night Intercity trains are rerouted.
Key corporate trains affected include FR 9567 (Milan–Rome) and ITA 9963 (Turin–Rome), both critical for Monday-morning meetings. Regional services between Chiusi and Rome and on the Adriatic corridor also face temporary curtailments. Trenitalia has updated all channels, but ticket holders receive no automatic SMS unless they registered contact details.
The works form part of a €2 billion resilience investment to raise the line’s maximum speed to 320 km/h by 2027 and add ETCS Level 2 signalling. While disruption on the day is limited, mobility managers should brief employees to verify departure times and allow extra connection margins.
Compensation for delays over 30 minutes remains available under EU Rail Passenger Rights Regulation 1371/2007, but only if passengers submit claims within 90 days.
