Digital Nomad programme widens nationality list; marketing specialists now eligible
Czechia’s trail-blazing Digital Nomad visa programme continues to gain traction. As of 25 October, more than 1,000 approvals have been issued since its launch, following February’s expansion that opened the scheme to citizens of Brazil, Israel, Mexico and Singapore and extended eligibility beyond IT to marketing professionals. Applicants must earn at least 1.5 times the average Czech salary and, if employed, work for a foreign company with 50+ staff. Processing remains capped at 45 days, and family members can obtain dependent residence permits.

Immigration advisers say demand has spiked among US and UK remote workers deterred by Spain’s tax rules and Portugal’s backlog. Employers sending staff on “work-from-anywhere” arrangements should confirm home-country social-security obligations and Czech tax residence thresholds. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering raising the annual programme quota from 2,000 to 5,000 in 2026 if labour-market impact stays positive.
