Iraq Visa Policy

Based on the current law of Iraq, citizens from most countries require visas if they must visit Iraq; however, there are selected countries on the visa-on-arrival list. Israel is the only country on the banned list, so Israeli passport holders are not allowed into Iraq. They are also banned from transiting to other countries through Iraq. The only region open to them is the Kurdistan region.

Passport: Your passport must be valid to cover your stay in the country. For instance, if you decide to extend your stay by 60 days, you must make sure that your passport will remain valid during the extra weeks.

Applying For Work: Visitors can convert their e-visa into a work visa by securing a work permit, but that will only be after they arrive in the region. If they secure a job at any point, they can visit any of the Administrative offices to apply for a work permit which will be granted to them after filing an application.
