Currency
• Cash of TOP 10,000 or more, or the equivalent in foreign currency, must be declared to Customs on arrival. Cash includes banknotes, travellers' cheques, cheques, money orders and bearer negotiable instruments. Failing to declare or making a false declaration is an offence, and the cash can be seized.

• Firearms and ammunition need a licence issued under Tongan law.
• Explosives of all kinds, including fuses and detonators, need a licence issued under Tongan law.
• Tear gas and other noxious or stupefying gases, and weapons or devices for using them, are allowed only in accordance with the law.
• All plant, animal and food products must be declared on arrival.
• You must declare any prohibited or restricted goods and anything that may be subject to duty or tax. Personal valuables worth TOP 500 or more must also be declared.
