• Personal belongings for use during your stay.
• For travelers aged 18 or older: 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos (up to 3 g each) or 50 cigars or 250 g of smoking tobacco, or a proportional mix of these.
• For travelers aged 18 or older: 1 L of spirits over 22% alcohol or 2 L of alcoholic beverages and aperitifs up to 22% alcohol, and 2 L of wine.
• 50 ml of perfume and 250 ml of eau de toilette.
• Residents of North Macedonia returning from abroad: other non-commercial goods up to EUR 350 (alcohol, tobacco, perfume and eau de toilette are not included in this amount).
Currency
• Foreign cash and cheques in foreign currency worth EUR 10,000 or more must be declared to customs on arrival. Smaller amounts may also be declared.
• Macedonian denars (MKD): up to MKD 120,000 in cash per person and up to MKD 120,000 in denar cheques. Non-residents may bring in more denars only with a bank document (not older than 30 days) showing the denars were bought from or withdrawn at a bank; the document must be presented to customs for certification.
Prohibited
• Illegal drugs, including cannabis
• Meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, and fish and fish products in personal luggage (with only a few narrow exceptions under the veterinary rules)
Restricted
• Firearms and ammunition may be brought in only with an approval from the Ministry of Interior.
• Pets: up to 5 animals, not for sale and accompanied by the owner or an authorized person. Dogs, cats and ferrets must be older than 3 months, have a microchip or a clearly legible tattoo, and travel with a pet passport or an official veterinary health certificate. Pets from, or transiting, countries not on the approved list also need a rabies antibody (titer) test done at least 3 months before travel.
• Pets from the United States need a current rabies vaccination and a health certificate issued by a USDA-accredited veterinarian and endorsed by USDA APHIS within 10 days of travel.
• Pet birds need a veterinary health certificate and a written statement from the owner. Rodents, rabbits, reptiles, amphibians and ornamental fish need a veterinary health certificate and a veterinary check within 24 hours before travel.
• Powdered infant milk, infant food and special medical food: up to 2 kg per person, in sealed branded packaging that does not need refrigeration. Other animal products such as honey: up to 2 kg per person.
• Plants and plant products are subject to phytosanitary inspection at the border and may enter only after the inspector approves them.
• Medicines: carry a certificate from your doctor or health institution identifying the medicine and the patient, stating the condition and signed by the doctor. Medicines containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances need a certificate from the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices.
• Endangered species of plants and animals and products made from them (CITES), such as ivory, coral or items from protected species, need a permit obtained in advance from the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.
• Goods above the duty-free allowances, goods for commercial use and anything that may be prohibited must be declared to customs.
