Pets from countries not on the BiH approved list (the list includes the USA and Canada) also need a rabies antibody test of at least 0.5 IU/ml, taken at least 30 days after vaccination and 3 months before travel, done in an approved laboratory. Pets must enter through a designated border crossing, where the owner reports to the veterinary inspection. More than five pets are subject to full import rules.
• Powdered infant milk, infant food and special food needed for medical reasons are allowed up to 1 kg per person, in unopened branded packaging that does not need refrigeration. Animal products that do not meet the rules must be placed in the bins provided at the border for destruction; failure to declare them is punished.
