easyJet Opens Berlin–Seville Route, Expands Capital’s Winter Network
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) gained a brand-new Iberian connection on 27 October 2025 as easyJet launched twice-weekly flights to Seville (SVQ), operating every Monday and Friday. The low-cost carrier, already BER’s largest airline by movements, is targeting both leisure traffic and a growing cohort of Spanish tech professionals who commute between Andalusia and Berlin’s start-up scene.

Seville has not been served from the German capital since Air Berlin’s collapse in 2017. easyJet’s entry restores direct access, cutting journey times by at least two hours compared with current one-stop options via Madrid or Barcelona and supporting German SME exporters in the renewable-energy and agricultural-tech sectors clustered around Seville.

The airline also confirmed that, from 7 November, it will introduce a twice-weekly BER–London Southend link, complementing its Gatwick and Luton services and giving corporate travellers additional schedule resilience during the busy winter season when Heathrow slots remain constrained.

For mobility managers, the new Seville flights create a same-day out-and-back option (Monday outbound, Friday return) that aligns with typical project-site rotations, while the added London capacity eases pressure on premium-fare corridors for German-UK commuters. Travellers should note that non-EU passport holders will need to complete biometric enrolment under the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) now live at BER’s Terminal 1, which has reported average first-time registration processing of eight minutes per passenger.

Berlin airport executives said Seville is part of a strategic push to diversify BER’s route map beyond holiday charter destinations, with an emphasis on business-relevant secondary European cities. The airport expects to announce at least three further network additions before the 2026 summer timetable.
