The Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV) Support Service has opened registration for an online pre-departure briefing on 22 October 2025, aimed at Nauruan applicants who have secured, or are close to securing, their PEV. The two-hour Microsoft Teams session will cover Australian workplace culture, travel preparation, and the emotional impact of migration.
The PEV was launched in July 2024 to provide 3,000 permanent visas annually to citizens of Pacific island nations and Timor-Leste. Although employer sponsorship is optional, most participants have lined up regional agriculture and aged-care roles.
Global employers tapping the PEV talent pool can encourage recruits to attend; the structured orientation helps reduce early attrition and compliance issues related to Fair-Work obligations.
The support service will run identical sessions for Samoa and Tonga later in October, followed by on-shore “Day Two” workshops focusing on tax, banking and driver-licence conversion.
