Free import
• For travelers aged 18 or older: 600 cigarettes, 100 cigarillos (up to 3 g each), 50 cigars, 250 g of cut tobacco (with 200 cigarette papers) and 250 g of pipe tobacco. Each allowance can be used separately.
• For travelers aged 18 or older: 1 L of alcoholic drinks over 22% alcohol and 2 L of alcoholic drinks up to 22% alcohol.
• Cologne, perfume, lavender water, essence or lotion up to 600 ml in total, plus 5 skin care or make-up products.
• 1 kg of tea, 1 kg of coffee, 1 kg of instant coffee, 1 kg of chocolate and 1 kg of sweets. The chocolate and sweets allowances can be combined into 2 kg of either.
• Other goods for personal use or as gifts, not for commercial use, worth up to EUR 430 per traveler (EUR 150 for travelers under 15). As gifts, this can include up to 3 kg of fresh or dried fruit and vegetables and 1 kg of other plant products.
• Non-commercial goods above these limits, up to EUR 1,500 per traveler, are charged a single flat-rate tax (30% for goods coming directly from EU countries, 60% from other countries). Goods worth more than EUR 1,500 are charged normal import duties.
• Personal effects for the trip, such as clothing, a laptop, a camera, a GPS device, up to 3 portable musical instruments and sports equipment, on the official personal effects list, regardless of value.
• Personal jewellery made of precious metals and stones, not for commercial use, worth up to USD 15,000.
• Goods bought in arrival duty-free shops at Turkish airports, seaports and land border crossings are sold within the same allowances. Travelers entering by land can use the allowances at most 10 times a month.
Currency
• There is no limit on the amount of Turkish lira (TRY) or foreign currency you can bring in, and declaring it on arrival is not compulsory.
• Customs officers may ask about the amount and source of the cash you carry, and you must answer fully and truthfully. If you give no answer or a false one, a fine of 10% of the undeclared amount is charged and all the cash is detained.
• Money for certain purposes, such as loans, inheritance, gifts or donations, may only be brought in through banks, not carried in cash.

• Medicines: a reasonable quantity for personal treatment during your stay, with a medical report or prescription. Some common medicines are controlled in Türkiye and need extra documents.
• Mobile phones: one phone per person every 3 calendar years may be brought in duty-free for use with a Turkish SIM card registered to your ID number. The phone's IMEI must be registered within 120 days, and a phone usage permit fee (set every year) must be paid before registration. Phones cannot be sent to Türkiye by post or courier.
• Electronic devices brought from abroad may be charged a one-time TRT banderol fee by customs.
• Pets: up to 2 pets in total (cats, dogs or birds only) or 10 aquarium fish, traveling with you, with a veterinary health certificate, a vaccination certificate and an identity document if the pet has one. Pets are checked by a veterinarian at the border.
