Restricted

• Every traveler must complete the joint SAG-Customs sworn declaration (Declaración Jurada) on arrival. An SAG inspector decides whether each item may enter; undeclared or falsely declared products are confiscated and can lead to heavy fines.
• Fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, flowers and seeds may enter only if they meet SAG requirements (usually a phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin). Industrially processed, labelled and factory-sealed foods (such as cured or cooked boneless meat, canned meat, UHT milk, most cheeses and honey) are usually allowed after inspection.
• Goods above the duty-free allowances must be declared on arrival and duties and taxes paid (non-commercial goods up to USD 4,050).

• Radio transmitters, fish and other aquatic species, human remains or ashes, and species protected by CITES need authorization from the relevant Chilean agency.
• Dogs, cats and ferrets need an official health certificate issued no more than 10 days before travel (the EU pet passport is accepted for pets coming from the European Union). The animal must be identified by microchip (ISO 11784/11785) or tattoo, vaccinated against rabies at least 21 days before arrival, examined by a vet within 10 days before the certificate is issued and treated for internal and external parasites 5 to 30 days before the certificate is issued. Other animals and birds need prior SAG authorization.
