Lufthansa Group’s 2026 schedule adds daily Frankfurt & Munich flights to Larnaca

Lufthansa Group’s 2026 schedule adds daily Frankfurt & Munich flights to Larnaca
The Lufthansa Group unveiled its record-breaking summer 2026 timetable on 28 October, boasting more than 14 000 weekly flights. Hidden among the long list of updates is a boon for Cyprus: leisure affiliate Discover Airlines will launch daily services to Larnaca from both Frankfurt and Munich, upgrading the current 4-per-week pattern to a year-round daily operation.

The frequency boost will add roughly 2 100 inbound seats a week during the high season, reinforcing Germany’s position as Cyprus’ second-largest tourist and business source market after the UK. For corporate travel planners the extra capacity increases same-day connectivity to North America and Asia via Lufthansa’s hubs, a plus for the island’s fast-growing tech and shipping clusters that rely on long-haul itineraries.

Discover will deploy Airbus A320neos configured with 180 seats and a revamped business-class product. Flight timings (early morning southbound, late-evening northbound) are designed to maximise long-haul feed and permit weekend city-break patterns popular with digital nomads based in Cyprus.

Hermes Airports, operator of Larnaca and Paphos, welcomed the announcement, projecting an additional €28 million in direct tourism revenue and 200 airport-related jobs. The move also intensifies competition with Ryanair and Wizz Air, which currently dominate Central-European routes. Travel-policy teams should review negotiated fares, as Lufthansa Group is expected to release an early-bird corporate bundle in December.

While the expansion takes effect in March 2026, seats are already on sale, allowing mobility managers to lock in lower advance purchase rates for spring on-boarding waves.
