• 300 cigarettes or 75 cigars or 8 oz (about 227 g) of smoking tobacco, for personal use.
• 2 L of distilled alcoholic beverages (spirits), for personal use.
• Gifts up to USD 300 in value.
Currency
• The currency of the Marshall Islands is the US dollar.
• You must declare currency of USD 10,000 or more (or the equivalent in other currencies) to an authorized officer on arrival. This includes cash, traveler's cheques, money orders and other negotiable instruments, precious metals and precious stones.
• Not declaring, or making a false declaration, can lead to a fine of up to USD 50,000 and/or forfeiture of the currency.
Prohibited
• Illegal drugs.
• Handguns, automatic weapons, rifles larger than .22 caliber, shotguns larger than .410 gauge, and firearm silencers.
Restricted
• Declare to customs anything that may be prohibited or subject to duty or tax.
• Other firearms, ammunition and dangerous devices (such as explosives, switchblade or gravity knives and knuckle-dusters): visitors need an identification card issued under the Weapons Control Act. Hand them in to the Attorney General's Office or the Chief of Police on arrival; they are returned when the card is issued or when you leave.
• Animals, birds, plants and plant parts (including seeds, fruits and vegetables) are inspected by agricultural quarantine inspectors and may be refused entry, destroyed or sent back at your expense. Birds, plants and fruits need certification from the Quarantine Division.
