SWISS unveils 112-destination summer 2026 schedule with extra World Cup lift

SWISS unveils 112-destination summer 2026 schedule with extra World Cup lift
Following the publication of its route-additions, SWISS provided more colour on 28 October 2025, detailing a 112-destination summer timetable that will run from 29 March to 24 October 2026. Beyond new European points Poznan and Rijeka, the carrier plans additional frequencies to North American cities hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including daily (or multi-daily) flights to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Miami, plus five-weekly Zurich–Toronto service from 26 April.

Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach said the capacity bump is timed to capture both football traffic and robust demand from Swiss corporates returning to long-haul travel budgets. From Zurich, SWISS will offer 70 European and 25 intercontinental destinations; Geneva will see service to New York and 29 short-haul points.

For travel-programme managers, the big takeaway is increased seat availability on North American trunk routes during a period when hotel and air capacity traditionally tighten around the World Cup. Early allotment negotiations and dynamic-pricing caps are advisable.

The expanded network also widens options for multi-leg assignees entering Switzerland under the 90-day work-rule: more direct flights reduce layover visa-risk in third countries. Cargo divisions can likewise expect added lower-deck capacity out of Zurich during summer peaks.

While aircraft shortages have plagued European carriers, SWISS says fleet modernisation—anchored by its first Airbus A350-900 deliveries—allows it to scale without sacrificing punctuality.
