Prince Edward Island issues 1,081st invitation as PNP draw activity heats up
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) confirmed on 26 October 2025 that it has now issued 1,081 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) this year after conducting its second-largest draw of 2025. In the 17 October round—details of which were published by CIC News—160 candidates in Labour Impact and Express Entry streams received invitations, with priority given to healthcare, trades and manufacturing workers already employed on the Island.

PEI’s Office of Immigration said limited federal allocation forced the province to target sectors with the greatest retention prospects, echoing a trend across several provinces as Ottawa tightens national immigration levels. International graduates from UPEI and Holland College were again a focus, reflecting PEI’s strategy to keep young talent amid population ageing.

For employers, the draw underscores the value of supporting eligible foreign workers through the PNP: candidates nominated this month can expect their permanent-residence files to be finalised in six to nine months, faster than federal Express Entry in many cases. HR teams should ensure job-offer paperwork meets provincial criteria, including wage alignment with PEI standards.

Mobility managers assigning staff to Atlantic Canada should also note PEI’s new pre-arrival settlement webinar series, mandatory for nominees from 1 November. The sessions cover housing availability in Charlottetown and the Island’s growing Francophone services.

With at least two more PEI draws scheduled for November and December, employers who missed this invitation round have limited time to lodge Expressions of Interest. Monitor PEI’s published draw calendar and prepare documentation early to capitalise on the remaining 2025 nomination spaces.
