Interreg Poland–Ukraine fund extends grant deadline to 24 October 2025, boosting cross-border projects
The Association of the Carpathian Euroregion announced that the first call for proposals under Priority 4 (Co-operation) of the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021-2027 programme has been prolonged until 23:59 CET on 24 October 2025. Up to €2 million is available for ‘small projects’ with budgets between €20 000 and €90 000, covering people-to-people initiatives, cultural exchanges and micro-infrastructure that strengthen mobility across the 535-kilometre Polish-Ukrainian border.

Applications must involve at least one Polish and one Ukrainian beneficiary and allocate a minimum 20 % of spending on each side. Proposals are filed exclusively online in English through the programme’s Application and Reporting Generator (ARG). The fund reimburses up to 90 % of eligible costs, with Polish NGOs allowed to seek interest-free loans for the 10 % match.

For HR and global-mobility teams the extension is an opportunity to secure EU money for language courses, cross-border trainee rotations, joint vocational training centres or digital platforms that streamline relocation services. Projects approved this year can run for up to 18 months, meaning deliverables would align with the expected 2026 launch of the EU’s ETIAS travel authorisation system.

Companies should partner with local chambers of commerce or universities to act as lead applicants. Eligible expenses include staff travel, visa fees, accommodation during exchanges and minor building works – items often excluded from corporate budgets. Grants are paid in tranches, with simplified cost options reducing administrative overhead.
