Newfoundland & Labrador invites 100 candidates in dual PNP–AIP draw
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador held a combined Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) draw on 22 October 2025, issuing 100 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its enhanced Expression of Interest platform. Fifty-five invitations went to NLPNP candidates while 45 were allocated to the federal AIP stream.

This was the province’s tenth draw of 2025 and brings its year-to-date invitation total to 3,046—already surpassing last year’s full-year record. According to the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism, the round focused on health care, technology, fisheries and early-childhood education, fields that align with the province’s five-year economic growth plan. Applicants must now submit full documentation via the Immigration Accelerator Platform introduced in February 2025, which promises end-to-end digital processing.

For employers in Atlantic Canada, the steady cadence of draws underscores the province’s determination to grow its labour force despite national moves to slow immigration. Global-mobility professionals should note that AIP endorsements now require proof of settlement support plans and that NLPNP job-offer criteria were updated this summer to include remote-work arrangements for tech occupations.

Candidates who receive provincial nominations will gain an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if they later enter the federal Express Entry pool, effectively guaranteeing an invitation for permanent residence. Corporations looking to place key staff in Atlantic hubs should act quickly, as Newfoundland and Labrador has asked IRCC for an increased 2026 nomination allocation to keep pace with employer demand.
