Free import

• Used personal effects, such as used clothing and toiletries, are duty-free for all travelers. Items such as radios and cameras are not treated as personal effects.
• Other goods for personal use (not for sale) worth up to USD 200 per traveler are duty-free. This allowance can be used once a month, on the first entry into Zimbabwe in that calendar month, and only if the goods are properly declared. It applies to returning residents, visitors, immigrants and diplomats, but not to aircraft or vehicle crew.
• For travelers aged 18 or older: up to 5 L of alcoholic beverages, of which no more than 2 L may be spirits, within the USD 200 allowance.
• The USD 200 allowance does not cover blankets, refrigerators, stoves, beds, mattresses, laundry soap, cooking oil, flour, maize meal, sugar, meat, fish, powdered milk, yoghurt, cheese, eggs, corn puffs, jam or honey. These goods are dutiable even if their value is under USD 200.
• Travelers with nothing to declare use the Green Route. Travelers with dutiable or restricted goods, or who are unsure, must use the Red Route and complete customs declaration Form 47.

Currency

• Zimbabwe uses a multi-currency system: the local currency is the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), and US dollars and other foreign currencies are also legal tender. US dollars are accepted for most transactions; exchange money only at banks or licensed bureaux de change.
• Foreign currency cash may be brought in without limit, but it should be declared on ZIMRA Form 47 at the port of entry.
• Anyone entering or leaving Zimbabwe with cash or bearer negotiable instruments (such as traveler's cheques) worth USD 15,000 or more, or with unmanufactured precious metals or stones, must disclose them to customs when asked. Failure to disclose or a false disclosure can lead to seizure, a fine of up to USD 100,000 and/or up to 12 months in prison.

• Pornographic, indecent, obscene or objectionable material
