French Government Issues Practical Guide for Transport Operators on EES Roll-Out
Days before the Toussaint travel peak, the Directorate-General for Enterprises (DGE) published a 20-page memo on 9 October 2025—re-circulated to industry on 26 October—explaining how airlines, ferry lines and coach companies must adapt to the new Entry/Exit System. The document details staff training, passenger communications and data-protection obligations.

Key points include the option for carriers to host pre-registration kiosks at check-in areas and the requirement to display EU-mandated signage in French and English. The guide urges operators to update terms and conditions so that travellers acknowledge biometric capture and warns of €5,000 fines per infraction for non-compliance.

Global mobility teams should liaise with preferred carriers to ensure corporate-rate travellers are briefed on the new formalities. Failure to collect accurate passport data in advance could trigger airport-check-in refusals once full enforcement begins in April 2026.
