Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa Cap Raised to 1,000—Deputy Ministry Confirms Immediate Availability
The Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection announced on 30 October 2025 that the application window for the Digital Nomad Visa is open with an expanded annual quota of 1,000 permits—double last year’s ceiling.

The decision reflects strong demand from remote workers seeking EU base-camp options outside the high-cost capitals of Western Europe. Successful applicants receive a renewable one-year residence permit, provided they earn at least €3,500 per month and work exclusively for overseas clients. Family members may accompany the primary applicant but are barred from local employment.

Since the programme’s pilot launch in 2021, Cyprus has issued 518 permits and 389 dependent visas, injecting an estimated €10 million annually into the economy. The higher cap is expected to translate into €15–18 million in direct spending on housing, education and services, according to Invest Cyprus.

For employers, the scheme offers a legal pathway to station non-EU talent on the island without triggering corporate‐tax residency. Professional-services firms have already begun packaging relocation bundles that include office-hotel hybrid space in Limassol’s tech quarter.

The ministry hinted that if monthly demand exceeds 90 applications, it may scrap the quota entirely in 2026. Application forms and guidance have been uploaded to the gov.cy portal.
