Ryanair returns to Lake Constance Airport with Palma de Mallorca and Alicante

Ryanair returns to Lake Constance Airport with Palma de Mallorca and Alicante
After a three-year hiatus, Ryanair is making a comeback at Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen (FDH), announcing two Spanish holiday routes that will start with the summer 2026 schedule on 30 March 2026. Palma de Mallorca will operate thrice weekly and Alicante twice weekly.

For the four-country catchment around Lake Constance – southern Germany, eastern Switzerland, western Austria and Liechtenstein – the move restores low-cost international lift that had been eroded by higher German aviation taxes and Ryanair’s focus on other European bases.

Airport CEO Detlef Schäfer said the carrier’s return is a “vote of confidence” in the region’s export-oriented SMEs, many of which send staff to Spain for supplier audits and trade fairs. From Ryanair’s point of view, FDH offers lean costs versus Germany’s congested hubs, enabling attractive fares despite the €15 air-transport tax increase due next April.

Travel managers should update self-booking tools: Palma flights are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, permitting efficient weekend-to-weekend assignment trips, while Alicante’s Tuesday/Saturday pattern suits longer field-service rotations.
