All Saints’ Day: Brussels boosts bus links to major cemeteries on 1 November
STIB-MIVB announced on 23 October that it will run extra bus services on lines 59, 63 and 77 for Toussaint/All Saints’ Day, a public holiday when thousands of residents – including many expatriates – visit family graves.

Key changes include an extension of line 63 from Cimetière de Bruxelles to Jules Bordet, a deviation of line 59 via the same stop to reach Evere and Schaerbeek cemeteries, and the rare holiday activation of line 77 connecting Kraainem to Hippodrome. The additional services will operate between 07:45 and 16:50, with line 77 running every 20 minutes.

Why it matters for global mobility: International employees often use 1 November to integrate with Belgian cultural traditions or host visiting relatives. Companies planning relocation orientations or short business trips should note that normal office hours are curtailed and traffic near cemeteries will be dense. Providing assignees with public-transport alternatives can avoid parking headaches.

STIB says regular fares and MoBIB contactless cards remain valid on the supplemental sections. Real-time schedules will appear in the STIB app from 30 October. Travellers connecting from Brussels Airport can reach the special routes via the Airport Line and a quick metro transfer at Merode or Schuman.
