IndiGo to Launch Daily Mumbai–Madinah Link, Easing Corporate and Pilgrim Travel

IndiGo to Launch Daily Mumbai–Madinah Link, Easing Corporate and Pilgrim Travel
IndiGo announced on 22 October that it will start daily non-stop flights between Mumbai and Madinah from 15 November 2025, becoming the only Indian carrier to operate the sector. The Airbus A320 service—revealed via the airline’s press-release portal—will cut journey times for Indian business travellers to Saudi Arabia’s western region and offer Umrah pilgrims a direct connection ahead of the peak winter season.

For corporations in Mumbai’s petro-chemical and infrastructure sectors, the link provides a same-day itinerary to industrial hubs such as Yanbu and King Abdullah Economic City via a two-hour road transfer from Madinah. Travel buyers also anticipate lower fares compared with routing via Jeddah or Gulf hubs.

The flight expands IndiGo’s growing Gulf footprint, following its July codeshare with Saudia. Aviation analysts say the quick-turn A320 roster reflects IndiGo’s strategy to tap high-density religious traffic while maximising narrow-body utilisation. The carrier has petitioned the Ministry of Civil Aviation for additional bilateral entitlements to Dammam and Riyadh as part of its long-haul pivot.

Passengers can book through IndiGo’s website, app or GDS partners; introductory fares start at ₹22,999 one-way inclusive of taxes. The airline will operate evening departures ex-BOM (21:15) arriving at 23:40 local time, with the return leg leaving at 00:40 and reaching Mumbai at 07:15 IST—facilitating onward domestic connections.
