BLS International bags Cyprus visa outsourcing mandate in Kazakhstan
Delhi-headquartered BLS International Services Limited announced on 23 October that it has won a multi-year contract from the Embassy of Cyprus in Nur-Sultan to manage all Cyprus visa applications in Kazakhstan. The deal reinforces BLS’s position as the world’s second-largest consular outsourcing firm, operating 27 visa centres across the CIS region.

Under the agreement, BLS will roll out biometric enrolment, appointment scheduling and courier return of passports, leveraging its AI-based ‘BLU-Track’ platform for real-time status updates. The first centre opens in Almaty on 15 November, followed by Astana in December.

Although the contract concerns Cyprus, it is strategically significant for India’s global mobility sector: BLS handles Indian visa services for 19 governments and processed 16 million applications last year. The win showcases Indian expertise in digital visa facilitation and may bolster the company’s prospects when the Ministry of External Affairs tenders its next-generation IVFRT outsourcing project in 2026.

For Indian multinationals with project staff in Kazakhstan’s energy corridor, the new centre promises faster turnaround for Schengen-access Cyprus work visas used during offshore crew rotations. The company says standard processing times will drop from 15 working days to 10, with an optional 48-hour express lane.

BLS shares rose 2.1 % on the NSE following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about high-margin government contracts.
