Publishing detailed statistics on 7 November 2025, the Nadodrzański branch of the Polish Border Guard reported that since temporary controls were introduced on 7 July, officers—supported by police, territorial-defence troops and military gendarmerie—have inspected 379,000 people and 178,000 vehicles on the Lubusz and Lower-Silesian stretches of the German border. Entry was refused to 275 foreign nationals, while more than 130 people were arrested for facilitating illegal migration.

The figures confirm anecdotal evidence that irregular crossings along the Oder and Neisse rivers remain limited compared with the eastern frontier, yet the government argues that continued vigilance is necessary as smugglers shift routes westward.

Local chambers of commerce note moderate but manageable delays for Polish exporters, with average waiting times stabilising below 20 minutes per truck after an initial surge in July. Still, just-in-time supply chains—especially in the auto sector around Wrocław—have added buffer inventory or switched some routes to rail.

Business travellers crossing by car should anticipate spot checks at smaller crossings that were previously unmanned. Mobility teams are advised to verify whether employees qualify for the SG’s ‘fast lane’ pilot programme for holders of diplomatic and service passports, which has cut processing times to under five minutes at Świecko.

While the current order runs until early April, officers told local media they expect another extension unless EU-level solutions on external-border management are reached.
