The Philippines has joined the ranks of Southeast Asian nations courting the Indian outbound market. Effective 3 November 2025, Indian passport holders can enter the archipelago visa-free under two distinct categories. Tourists with standard documentation—six-month passport validity, confirmed hotel booking, return ticket and proof of funds—may stay up to 14 days. A second track allows a 30-day visa-free visit for Indians who already hold a valid visa or permanent residence for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore or any Schengen member.

The Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila said the policy is designed to double Indian arrivals—currently 120,000 per year—within three seasons. Philippine carriers such as Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines are reportedly assessing direct flights to Delhi and Mumbai to capitalise on potential traffic.

For Indian corporates, the change simplifies last-minute trips for buyer-supplier meetings in the Manila–Clark IT-BPO corridor and unlocks ‘bleisure’ extensions to Cebu or Boracay without consular paperwork. However, the Bureau of Immigration stresses that the waiver is strictly non-extendable and cannot be converted into employment status; long-term or work visitors must still secure the appropriate 9(G) or 47(A)(2) visas in advance.

Travel advisors caution clients to carry printed hotel vouchers and recent bank statements—immigration officers retain discretion to refuse entry if financial means look insufficient. Passengers with any derogatory record in Philippine databases will also be denied on arrival.

The move follows similar liberalisation by Thailand and Malaysia this year and underscores the region’s scramble for India’s rapidly expanding middle-class traveller base.
