€375,000 upgrade to Córdoba’s CO-4200 road boosts rural accessibility
The Provincial Council of Córdoba announced on 8 March that works are under way to widen and resurface four kilometres of the CO-4200, the secondary road linking Bujalance with Valenzuela and connecting local agribusinesses to the A-309 corridor.

If your logistics or agribusiness teams include non-EU technicians, drivers or seasonal staff, arranging the correct entry paperwork can be as crucial as route planning. VisaHQ’s Spain portal (https://www.visahq.com/spain/) streamlines visa applications, residence permits and work authorizations, letting companies track requirements and turnaround times in one place, so staff arrive on schedule to take advantage of improvements like the CO-4200 upgrade.

The €375,000 project will increase lane width to 6.2 metres in the narrowest sections and reinforce pavement on freight-worn stretches. Delegado de Infraestructuras Andrés Lorite said the investment is critical for safety, noting heavy use by olive-oil tankers and seasonal migrant-labour transport. The council is already drafting a follow-up phase worth over €500,000 to complete the corridor by late 2027. For mobility planners the upgrade shortens travel time between Córdoba capital and industrial estates east of the province, offering an alternative route that bypasses congested N-432 segments. Logistics firms expect fuel savings of 8-10 % once speed limits return to 90 km/h after resurfacing. The works coincide with Spain’s wider push to modernise secondary roads that form the ‘last mile’ of export supply chains. Companies moving agricultural machinery or planning commuter shuttles for field-worker programmes should factor in periodic night-time closures until July and ensure drivers carry updated routing instructions to avoid fines for entering work zones.
