This visa is available online, and all you have to do is fill out and submit an application form, and the visa will be released to you through your email if you qualify. Tourism e-visas are valid for three months and allow you to stay that long. Entrepreneurs, investors, or representatives of companies and organizations may avail of this visa to pursue their business interests in the country. As a business visa applicant, you must submit a cover letter clearly explaining why you wish to visit Zimbabwe and for how long. If you are invited by a host, you must also provide a written letter from the host explaining why you should be allowed to enter the country.

Business visitors are allowed to pursue their interests rather than to work and earn direct payment for their services. If you have any intention to work in Zimbabwe, you must apply for a work visa at the Zimbabwean consulate in your country. Business visitors can stay in Zimbabwe for up to 30 days, after which they must leave.

However, if they are staying for much longer or leaving the airport for a few days before returning to continue their journey, they will need a visa. Transit visas are issued at all international airports in Zimbabwe, which the travelers can then use to pass through the immigration checkpoint. Although the application is done online, the actual visa will be issued to you on arrival, and it allows you to say for up to 4 days or more, depending on your nationality.

Zimbabwe Visa Policy

According to Zimbabwe’s visa policy, any visitor coming to the country must have a valid visa unless they are from a visa-exempt country or territory or qualify for a visa on arrival due to their nationality. The immigration law of Zimbabwe is the guiding regulation that determines visa requirements, duration of stay, validity, and other features for visitors. The country also has a Universal tourist visa arrangement with Zambia, allowing holders to visit the duo as tourists for a limited time. This visa was launched in 2014 and is still active.

Zimbabwe Visa-Free Countries

Visitors from countries that make up Zimbabwe's visa waiver list do not need visas for a short trip to Zimbabwe. If you are from any of these countries, you can stay within Zimbabwe’s territorial borders for up to 90 days unless otherwise specified. Visa exempt visitors must possess valid passports issued by their home countries and a return ticket. Their trip may be for tourism, business or transit but they can't work in the country.

Zimbabwe e Visa

The Zimbabwean e visa is an online visa is a special visa that doesn’t require visits to the embassy or consulate of Zimbabwe in a foreign country. This program is managed by the Department of Immigration, and it takes an average of 2-3 working days to approve an application. E visas are valid for three months from the issue date and are meant for tourism, business, study, and residence. The visa program was introduced to decongest Zimbabwean foreign missions and expand access to visas in less time.

Holders of e-visas can enter the country through multiple entry points such as Harare International Airport, Beitbridge, Plumtree, Chirundu, Forbes Mutare, Victoria Falls, Kariba, Nyamapanda, and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport.

Zimbabwe Online Visa Key Details

Passport Validity: When calculating your passport validity, start counting from your departure date, not the day the visa is issued. Also, note that you must travel with the same passport used for the application.

Not A Work Visa: This visa is not a work visa, so avoid engaging in any employment activities during your stay. For work purposes, visit the Zimbabwean embassy instead to apply for a consular work visa.

Bring A Printed Copy: Always travel with a printed copy of your e-Visa as evidence because the immigration control officers will vet it.

Vaccination: Zimbabwe doesn’t have an active vaccine mandate, but this may change in the nearest future. Also, visitors from some regions may be required to get Yellow Fever vaccination before they can be allowed into the country. Before you leave your base, find out if there are any mandates, just to be sure. You may also need to consult your doctor for professional advice.

Use Approved Routes: When planning your trip, make sure you use the approved routes for e visa holders which are the two international airports in the country and selected checkpoints.  Using unapproved routes may expose you to avoidable risks.

One Person Per Visa: Two persons cannot share the same visa because the policy is one person per visa. There are no group visas under this program and minors will also need their own visas.  Parents or legal guardians can apply for the visa on their behalf.

Pay With Your Card: Since the application is online you can't pay the fee with cash. The only way to pay is with a valid credit or debit card. The card need not be yours as long as it is valid and has sufficient balance to cover the fee and transaction cost.

Apply At The Right Time: Once the visa is approved it becomes active and it begins to countdown to the expiry date. If you don't want to lose some precious time, do well to apply for it at least 3-4 days before your trip.  E visa applications are approved within 1-3 days. By timing your application you will enjoy every single day the visa affords you.

Travel With A Copy: Always travel with a copy of your visa because you never know when you may need it and your device may not be with you at the time of need. The immigration agents at the entry point will request it but once you are inside the country, there may be a need to show it to local law enforcement; always keep a copy with you when you go out.
